I make my living with my food truck. 12 weeks ago the fuel pump failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $1,500. Without the vehicle I earn nothing. I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask. I support my wife and our newborn. Before the breakdown I worked twelve hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next six months if I can just get the vehicle working. I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here. All money will go toward the parts and labor on the estimate, with a small amount for road tax and insurance renewal. Where the $1,500 goes: • fuel pump replacement (parts): $860 • Labor charges: $240 • Road tax and insurance renewal: $250 • Towing and inspection: $150 Thank you so much.

Updates from Sophia

  1. 6% there. the plan for road tax and insurance renewal is now scheduled. Thank you.

  2. Quick update: $25 raised so far (2%). I met with the mechanic and confirmed the amounts. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.

Take care. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Sent it to 14 people at work. Greetings from Mumbai.

    • Hope things get better soon. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. All the best

      • Hope you make a strong comeback. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust. Love from Dhaka.
