Get Julieta back on the road: my tuk-tuk repair fund

Without my tuk-tuk Julieta can't work; a $300 repair would put her back on the road.

I make my living with my tuk-tuk. 6 weeks ago the rear axle failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $300. Without the vehicle I earn nothing. I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask. I support my two daughters and my mother. Before the breakdown I worked nine hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next three months if I can just get the vehicle working. I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here. I'll pay the mechanic directly and show you the repaired vehicle in an update. Where the $300 goes: • rear axle replacement (parts): $160 • Road tax and insurance renewal: $55 • Labor charges: $85 Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

Updates from Julieta

  1. Quick update: $175 raised so far (58%). we've started the first stage. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.

  2. We're at 33% thanks to 1 of you. I met with the mechanic and confirmed the amounts. More news soon.
