Garba is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying a diploma in hospitality management at the Lagos Institute of Technology, and is one term away from graduating. He has worked as a night-shift cleaner to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $450. The registrar has said Garba can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Garba has a first-class average, and a department head has written in support. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Garba would lose his place and scholarship eligibility. Garba isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student. The payment will go directly to the the Lagos Institute of Technology bursar's office. I'll post the receipt. Where the $450 goes: • Exam and lab fees: $20 • Final term tuition: $380 • Textbooks and materials: $50 If you're reading this, thank you. - Yinka
