Freedom Park needs a youth football pitch - Luiz's neighborhood project
Volunteers in Rio de Janeiro are raising $1,050 for a youth football pitch at Freedom Park.

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 27 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Freedom Park, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $1,050.
It will serve about 384 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in August and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $1,050 goes:
• Materials: $780
• Permits and inspections: $60
• Safety equipment and signage: $145
• Tools hire and delivery: $65
