My son, Rolando, is 15 and in Year 10. Rolando loves school but physics has been a struggle since the school was closed during the strikes. The national exam is in June. We can't afford a private tutor, and the school's free sessions are full. We're looking for a volunteer who could spend an hour or two a week, in person in Iloilo City or online, for about twelve weeks. Rolando is polite, hardworking and eager. We have a quiet space and a laptop for online sessions. I'll always be at home for in-person sessions. If you're a teacher, student or professional who feels comfortable in physics, you could change the course of Rolando's year. Thanks for being kind about this.

  • As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Greetings from Hubballi.

    • Thinking of you, Jomar. As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. Greetings from Bangkok.

      • Keep going. Education changes everything, hope you graduate with honors. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. All the best.

        • You're not alone. I hope things turn around soon. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. All the best.
