Fiona's final semester of an agriculture degree in Cape Town
A first-generation student, Fiona needs help covering tuition for the final stretch of an agriculture degree.
🇿🇦 Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa967 views
Fiona is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying an agriculture degree at Cape Town State College, and is one semester away from graduating. She has worked as a tutor to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $1,150.
The registrar has said Fiona can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Fiona has a top-ten-percent average, and a professor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Fiona would lose her place and scholarship eligibility.
Fiona isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student.
Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees.
Where the $1,150 goes:
• Outstanding tuition balance: $630
• Final term tuition: $380
• Exam and lab fees: $55
• Textbooks and materials: $85
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

Hang in there, Lucky. Good luck with the exams, you've got this. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Love from Ottawa!
Thinking of you and your family, Lucky. Hope you get there. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double
As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. I have a 17 year old who wants to send good wishes too. Greetings from Kazan!
Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Wish I lived closer to Kaduna so I could bring a meal. God bless.
