Mai is facing stomach cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Mai was diagnosed with stomach cancer in May. The oncology team at Kyoto Cancer Centre has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in June. She will be away from work for about 4 weeks. Mai is 29, worked as a bakery worker until May, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Kyoto Cancer Centre 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes. Where the $1,700 goes: • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $400 • Scans and lab work: $800 • Transport to Kyoto Cancer Centre: $500 Please ask me anything in the questions section.
