4 rounds of treatment are planned at the Nairobi Oncology Institute; we're asking for help with the costs insurance doesn't cover.

Nairobi
Kipchoge was diagnosed with stomach cancer in May. The oncology team at the Nairobi Oncology Institute has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in August. He will be away from work for about 3 weeks. Kipchoge is 35, worked as a hairdresser until May, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Nairobi Oncology Institute 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $2,150 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,400 • Scans and lab work: $130 • Transport to the Nairobi Oncology Institute: $210 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $65 • Household costs while unable to work: $345 If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.
