Lilian was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer in March. The oncology team at Mombasa Regional Medical Center has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in June. She will be away from work for about 7 weeks. Lilian is 32, worked as a primary school teacher until March, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Mombasa Regional Medical Center 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes. Where the $1,450 goes: • Scans and lab work: $270 • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $920 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $85 • Household costs while unable to work: $175 Thank you so much. - Faith

  • Sending good thoughts. This could happen to any of us. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Love from Girona.

sending love, Faith. Gave what I could, wish it was more. My husband and I read this together.

      • Hang in there, Faith. Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Take care.
