Thulani was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma in January. The oncology team at the Mthatha Oncology Institute has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in May. He will be away from work for about 10 weeks. Thulani is 52, worked as a taxi driver until January, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Mthatha Oncology Institute 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
