Kemi was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in August. The oncology team at Ikeja Cancer Centre has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in October. She will be away from work for about 6 weeks. Kemi is 26, worked as a hairdresser until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Ikeja Cancer Centre 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $1,500 goes: • Household costs while unable to work: $290 • Scans and lab work: $270 • Transport to Ikeja Cancer Centre: $155 • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $785 Thank you so much. - Uche
