Luana was diagnosed with kidney cancer in July. The oncology team at Duque de Caxias Cancer Centre has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in September. She will be away from work for about 12 weeks. Luana is 25, worked as a taxi driver until July, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Duque de Caxias Cancer Centre 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.
