Fighting Hodgkin lymphoma: help Evelyn afford treatment in Leicester

Evelyn is facing Hodgkin lymphoma and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Leicester
Evelyn was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma in June. The oncology team at the Leicester Oncology Institute has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in September. She will be away from work for about 8 weeks. Evelyn is 36, worked as a taxi driver until June, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Leicester Oncology Institute 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes. Where the $5,450 goes: • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $330 • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $3,750 • Transport to the Leicester Oncology Institute: $560 • Household costs while unable to work: $810 If you're reading this, thank you.

Updates from Nolan

  1. Good news. Because of your gifts ($3,936 in total) the first invoice got paid this week. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

  2. Small update. $1,967 so far, I met with the treatment center and confirmed the amounts.

  3. Update from Leicester: I made the first payment toward chemotherapy and medication not covered. We're at 32% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.
