Fighting early-stage lung cancer: help Atim afford treatment in Kakamega
Supporting Atim through early-stage lung cancer: medication, transport to Kakamega Regional Medical Center, and living costs while She cannot work.
🇰🇪 Kenya1,003 views
Atim was diagnosed with early-stage lung cancer in March. The oncology team at Kakamega Regional Medical Center has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in June. She will be away from work for about 4 weeks.
Atim is 29, worked as a nurse until March, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Kakamega Regional Medical Center 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $1,100 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $650
• Scans and lab work: $160
• Transport to Kakamega Regional Medical Center: $60
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $80
• Household costs while unable to work: $150

Take care, Janet. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. All the best
hope it all works out, Janet. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. My cousin had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Thinking of Kakamega
Hope things get better soon. Hope you get there. I went through something like this 14 years ago and strangers helped me out.
