Fighting colon cancer: help Sumbal afford treatment in Gujranwala
Sumbal is facing colon cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.
🇵🇰 Gujranwala, Punjab, Pakistan695 views
In May I was diagnosed with colon cancer. My oncology team at Gujranwala Cancer Centre has planned 12 rounds of treatment, and the first starts in August. I was told to expect about 12 weeks away from work.
I never imagined I'd be writing something like this. I'm 50, I worked as a shop owner until May, and I have been the main earner for my household.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, transport to Gujranwala Cancer Centre 3 times a week, and the income I have lost add up quickly.
My family is doing everything they can, but we've already sold what we could and are borrowing for groceries.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.
Where the $1,050 goes:
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $60
• Scans and lab work: $165
• Household costs while unable to work: $170
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $655
With deep gratitude,
Sumbal

is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Sumbal
Sure. The biggest one is nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team, $60. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. Let me know if you want more detail.
Good luck, Sumbal. This could happen to any of us.
keep going, Sumbal. Shared this with my family. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it.
Hope it all works out, Sumbal. Get well soon. Don't give up.
You're not alone, Sumbal. Shared it with a few friends.
