Chennai
Aarti was diagnosed with colon cancer in August. The oncology team at the Chennai Oncology Institute has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in November. She will be away from work for about 7 weeks. Aarti is 45, worked as a taxi driver until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Chennai Oncology Institute 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $1,400 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,050 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $60 • Scans and lab work: $195 • Transport to the Chennai Oncology Institute: $95 Thank you so much. - Aditi
