Annabelle was diagnosed with cervical cancer in October. The oncology team at Ottawa Cancer Centre has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in February. She will be away from work for about 12 weeks. Annabelle is 38, worked as a bakery worker until October, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Ottawa Cancer Centre 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $10,300 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $6,750 • Scans and lab work: $1,350 • Transport to Ottawa Cancer Centre: $630 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $870 • Household costs while unable to work: $700 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support. - Autumn
