Fighting a rare sarcoma: help Maria afford treatment in Fresno
10 rounds of treatment are planned at the Fresno Oncology Institute; we're asking for help with the costs insurance doesn't cover.
🇺🇸 United States432 views
Maria was diagnosed with a rare sarcoma in November. The oncology team at the Fresno Oncology Institute has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in February. She will be away from work for about 4 weeks.
Maria is 45, worked as a cleaner at a hospital until November, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Fresno Oncology Institute 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.
Where the $9,700 goes:
• Household costs while unable to work: $850
• Transport to the Fresno Oncology Institute: $580
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $8,270
I hope life is good to you.
