Feed 392 families each week at Community Pantry in Alcalá de Henares
The Community Pantry pantry in Alcalá de Henares is running low just as demand rises; $1,250 will stock it for 10 weeks.

Since 2022, our volunteer team has run Community Pantry every Thursday from the back of a school canteen. We started with 12 families, and now we feed 392 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 38% this school holidays, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 15 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Alcalá de Henares market and keep every receipt.
Each $30 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $1,250 goes:
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $430
• Baby formula and diapers: $280
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $540

take care, Álvaro. I hope things turn around soon. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. All the best.
