Feed 388 families each week at the Sunday Shelf in Faisalabad
Help keep a free food pantry open for elderly neighbors in Faisalabad.
🇵🇰 Faisalabad, Punjab, Pakistan1,024 views
Since 2020, our volunteer team has run the Sunday Shelf every Wednesday from the back of a borrowed garage. We started with 25 families, and now we feed 388 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 55% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 12 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Faisalabad market and keep every receipt.
Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $250 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $115
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $50
• Baby formula and diapers: $55
• Refrigeration and electricity: $30
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Waseem.
Great idea, hope you get there. Sent it to 11 people at work. Love from Nagoya
Hang in there, Waseem. I hope things turn around soon. All the best.
Rooting for you, Waseem. Shared this with my family. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Thinking of Faisalabad.
