Feed 375 families each week at Community Pantry in Manukau
The Community Pantry pantry in Manukau is running low just as demand rises; $2,300 will stock it for 6 weeks.

Since 2020, our volunteer team has run Community Pantry every Sunday from the back of a borrowed garage. We started with 12 families, and now we feed 375 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 53% this summer, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 11 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Manukau market and keep every receipt.
Each $50 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $2,300 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $680
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $1,050
• Baby formula and diapers: $240
• Refrigeration and electricity: $330
