Irma was diagnosed with a herniated spinal disc in June. The surgeon at Bogor University Hospital recommended gallbladder removal, and She is scheduled for September. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $2,300, and after what the public health scheme will pay we're still $1,150 short. my wife has been in and out of Bogor University Hospital since June. The doctors say a herniated spinal disc will get worse without gallbladder removal. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $2,300 is more than we can find. While we wait, Irma struggles with daily life and can't stand for more than ten minutes. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. Rehabilitation is expected to take about 4 weeks. During that time Irma won't be able to stand for more than ten minutes, so the costs keep growing.
