Feed 350 families each week at the Sunday Shelf in Sacramento
Ángel runs a volunteer pantry feeding 350 families; this fund restocks shelves for the school holidays.

Since 2022, our volunteer team has run the Sunday Shelf every Tuesday from the back of the old library basement. We started with 30 families, and now we feed 350 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 32% this school holidays, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 12 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Sacramento market and keep every receipt.
Each $45 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $3,050 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $1,400
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $1,150
• Baby formula and diapers: $270
• Refrigeration and electricity: $230
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
