Feed 256 families each week at Community Pantry in Rajkot

The Community Pantry pantry in Rajkot is running low just as demand rises; $250 will stock it for 8 weeks.

Since 2021, our volunteer team has run Community Pantry every Monday from the back of the old library basement. We started with 26 families, and now we feed 256 each week. Donations have dropped by about 39% this winter, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 11 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Rajkot market and keep every receipt. Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week. I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday. Where the $250 goes: • Baby formula and diapers: $110 • Refrigeration and electricity: $40 • Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $100 With deep gratitude, Moumita

Hang in there, Moumita. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. Take care

    • Wishing you peace, Moumita. More neighborhoods should do this. Blessings.
