Bushra runs a volunteer pantry feeding 252 families; this fund restocks shelves for the rainy season.

Since 2022, our volunteer team has run Open Hands Pantry every Thursday from the back of the parish hall. We started with 25 families, and now we feed 252 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 50% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 17 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Lahore market and keep every receipt.
Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $255 goes:
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $90
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $160
• Refrigeration and electricity: $5
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.
Updates from Bushra
Good news. Because of your gifts ($78 in total) the plan for refrigeration and electricity is now scheduled. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
11% there. the first invoice got paid this week. Thank you. - Bushra
Thank you all. We're at 10% now ($25). I'm honestly stunned. I made the first payment toward refrigeration and electricity.

Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. We're a small family in Philadelphia but we're thinking of you. All the best.
