Volunteers wanted: Parker's yard after the storm
Parker, 92, can no longer manage the yard after a storm; we are looking for helpers with chainsaws and rakes.

I'm 92 and I have lived in this house in Detroit for 21 years. After the storm in June, two large branches and a fallen fence have blocked the back door and the garden path. I can no longer manage them myself because of a recent fall.
The council has told me it will be twelve weeks before they can send someone. I'd feel much safer if it were cleared sooner.
Help needed: two people with loppers and a wheelbarrow. I'll provide tea, sandwiches and the green waste bags. A few hours will do.
Glad we found this place.

Hope you get there. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double!
Good luck. Your post was clear and honest. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day.
A colleague of mine might know someone for this in Michigan. I'll ask around and let you know
Thanks for sharing this, Parker. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Greetings from Arlington.
wishing you peace. Hope you get there. All the best!
you're not alone. I hope things turn around soon. God bless.
