Feed 197 families each week at Open Hands Pantry in Sylhet
The Open Hands Pantry pantry in Sylhet is running low just as demand rises; $350 will stock it for 10 weeks.

Since 2019, our volunteer team has run Open Hands Pantry every Sunday from the back of a community center. We started with 30 families, and now we feed 197 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 56% this winter, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 6 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Sylhet market and keep every receipt.
Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $350 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $180
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $85
• Baby formula and diapers: $40
• Refrigeration and electricity: $45
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

hope it all works out, Nazrul. Great idea, hope you get there. Sent it to 27 people at work. Thinking of Sylhet
Good luck, Nazrul. This could happen to any of us.
Hope things get better soon, Nazrul. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. I'm in public service myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Love from San Francisco
