The the Harvest Pantry pantry in Johannesburg is running low just as demand rises; $700 will stock it for 11 weeks.

Since 2019, our volunteer team has run the Harvest Pantry every Friday from the back of a community center. We started with 12 families, and now we feed 165 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 44% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 14 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Johannesburg market and keep every receipt.
Each $10 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $700 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $440
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $200
• Refrigeration and electricity: $60
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

Hope it all works out, Kagiso. Shared this with my family. My cousin had a similar thing happen so this one hit home.
Hope you get there. We're a small family in Kasarani but we're thinking of you.
Wishing you peace, Kagiso. Hope this works out for you. I have a 15 year old who wants to send good wishes too. Take care.
