Help Andrés keep the the Second Helping pantry stocked
Andrés runs a volunteer pantry feeding 253 families; this fund restocks shelves for the summer.

Since 2019, our volunteer team has run the Second Helping every Monday from the back of the old library basement. We started with 16 families, and now we feed 253 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 47% this summer, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 20 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Envigado market and keep every receipt.
Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $750 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $460
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $170
• Baby formula and diapers: $70
• Refrigeration and electricity: $50
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

Wishing you the best, Andrés. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it.
Is there anything that isn't money that would help Andrés?
Thank you. If you're in Envigado I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great. Happy to explain more.
Gave what I could, wish it was more. My brother had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. God bless
Hang in there, Andrés. Great idea, hope you get there.

Hang in there. Your post was clear and honest. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust
keep going, Andrés. More neighborhoods should do this. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it.
Rooting for you, Andrés. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Blessings

Hope you get there. My neighbor in Depok donated after I showed her your page.
