The the Sunday Shelf pantry in Rio de Janeiro is running low just as demand rises; $800 will stock it for 6 weeks.

Since 2020, our volunteer team has run the Sunday Shelf every Tuesday from the back of a school canteen. We started with 30 families, and now we feed 121 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 48% this summer, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 11 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Rio de Janeiro market and keep every receipt.
Each $15 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $800 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $460
• Baby formula and diapers: $145
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $195
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.
