Volunteers needed to fix a leaking roof for Emery in Oakland
The roof at Emery's home is failing; materials are donated and we need hands.

I'm a retired bus driver living in Oakland. During the last storm water started coming through the ceiling in 3 places, and the living room is no longer usable. A roofer quoted $5,500, which isn't something I can pay.
The good news: a local hardware store has donated the roofing sheets and nails. What I don't have is people to do the work. I'm looking for three or four volunteers who can help over three weekday mornings.
Experience helps, but it isn't essential - I'll have a licensed roofer supervising for safety. All you need is to be comfortable with heights or willing to help from the ground. I'll provide lunch, water and lots of thanks.
The work will be done on the ground and roof with proper harnesses. If you can only help for a few hours, that's welcome too.
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

Sending good thoughts, Emery. Rent stress is the worst. Hope this helps.
Wishing you peace, Emery. Shared it with a few friends!
Wishing you peace. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. God bless.
Hang in there, Emery. Looking forward to the next update.
Rooting for you. Your post was clear and honest. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double
