The the Harvest Pantry pantry in Cairo is running low just as demand rises; $450 will stock it for 8 weeks.

Since 2021, our volunteer team has run the Harvest Pantry every Wednesday from the back of a community center. We started with 15 families, and now we feed 121 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 44% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 17 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Cairo market and keep every receipt.
Each $10 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $450 goes:
• Baby formula and diapers: $90
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $280
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $80
With deep gratitude,
Salim

Keep going, Salim. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected.
