Bharath, my husband, passed away on 17 July after a stroke. He was 27 years old. He was the heart of our family and had no savings or life insurance.
The funeral home has given us a quote of $550 and the cemetery needs payment before the burial date of 4 August.
I have already used what I had for the hospital bills. My family is scattered, and many of us are out of work. We want Bharath to have a dignified farewell.
Any help at all means a lot, and so do your prayers.
Anything left over after the funeral will be donated to a local food bank.
Where the $550 goes:
• Funeral home services and casket: $420
• Transport of the deceased: $55
• Memorial gathering for the family: $75

Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. funeral home services and casket comes first ($420) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid.
