My husband James has been accepted for treatment at the Thika Cancer Centre in Thika, starting on Thursday in October. We live 480 km away in a town in the north, and hotel costs would use up what we have set aside for the treatment itself. We're looking for a room, granny flat or short-term rental within about 30 minutes of the hospital, for 4 weeks. Two of us would stay: James and me. We can contribute $30 a week and cook for the household if you'd like. James will have some immune precautions, so a clean, smoke-free place would be ideal. A kitchen is a bonus. Thank you. Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

  • Take care. Gave what I could, wish it was more. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust

    • Sending strength. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. It's not much but it's yours

Thinking of you and your family. Wishing James a smooth procedure and a full recovery. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Thinking of Thika.

        • Thinking of you and your family, Wangari. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Put this on a community board in Los Angeles this morning
