Family housing near the Los Angeles Cancer Centre: 5 weeks
A family from a rural district needs lodging in Los Angeles while a child is treated.
🇺🇸 Los Angeles, California, United States570 views
My brother Elijah has been accepted for treatment at the Los Angeles Cancer Centre in Los Angeles, starting on Tuesday in October. We live 579 km away in a rural district, and hotel costs would use up what we have set aside for the treatment itself.
We're looking for a room, granny flat or short-term rental within about 30 minutes of the hospital, for 5 weeks. Two of us would stay: Elijah and me. We can contribute $140 a week and cook for the household if you'd like.
Elijah will have some immune precautions, so a clean, smoke-free place would be ideal. A kitchen is a bonus. Thank you.
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.
- effort
- 3–6 weeks
- format
- In person in Los Angeles
- skills
- a spare room near the hospital

Wishing you peace, Mackenzie. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I went through something like this 9 years ago and strangers helped me out.
Praying for you. Hope you get there. God bless
Keep going, Mackenzie. Hope the doctors have good news
Get well soon. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Greetings from Lahore
Sending love, Mackenzie. Hope this works out for you. Please keep us posted. All the best.
Take care. Hope you get there. Love from Charlotte.
Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. I went through something like this 7 years ago and strangers helped me out
Wishing you peace, Mackenzie. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. God bless.
keep going, Mackenzie. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. After 25 years in engineering I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Take care!
thinking of you, Mackenzie. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Blessings
wishing you peace. Shared it with a few friends. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. Thinking of Los Angeles.
