Emergency vet bill for Bruno in Bakersfield
Bruno, Alejandra's three-legged dog, needs urgent treatment for a ruptured cruciate ligament costing $1,700.

Bruno is my three-legged dog of nine years. On 15 June we rushed to Bakersfield Animal Hospital with a ruptured cruciate ligament. The vet recommends an operation to remove the blockage, and the estimate came to $1,700.
They have stabilized Bruno, but the treatment can't wait beyond August.
Bruno is more than a pet - Bruno got me through my hardest year. I have already put $380 toward the bills and asked for a payment plan.
Whatever I can't raise, I'll repay to anyone who needs it back.
If more is raised than needed, the surplus goes to Bakersfield Animal Hospital's charity fund for other animals.
Where the $1,700 goes:
• Diagnostics (X-ray, bloodwork): $270
• Emergency surgery: $1,300
• Medication and follow-up visits: $130
