Anna was diagnosed with a herniated spinal disc in April. The surgeon at Nuremberg Community Hospital recommended emergency hernia repair, and She is scheduled for August. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $10,500, and after what our health plan will pay we're still $5,200 short.
my wife has been in and out of Nuremberg Community Hospital since April. The doctors say a herniated spinal disc will get worse without emergency hernia repair. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $10,500 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Anna struggles with daily life and can't look after the children alone. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 3 weeks. During that time Anna won't be able to look after the children alone, so the costs keep growing.
