I live with multiple sclerosis. My occupational therapist at the Oakland Mobility Clinic has assessed me and recommended a stair-climbing aid. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $7,650.
My current equipment is 9 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 5 weeks.
With the right equipment I could attend work interviews. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered.
Where the $7,650 goes:
• stair-climbing aid: $6,750
• Fitting and training sessions: $390
• Delivery and set-up: $210
• First-year servicing plan: $300
