El Paso winter storm relief - the Sunrise district
Neighbors in the Sunrise district are rebuilding after the winter storm; every contribution goes to materials and supplies.

The winter storm hit the Sunrise district on 21 August. My home was one of 65 damaged, and 6 families are still in temporary shelter at the community hall.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates.
Where the $6,900 goes:
• Roofing sheets and timber: $2,700
• Clean water and purification supplies: $870
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $1,500
• Food parcels for displaced families: $1,150
• Tools and labor for repairs: $680
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

Thanks for sharing this. Hope this works out for you. I went through something like this 6 years ago and strangers helped me out. Love from Memphis.
Thanks for sharing this, Joyce. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. Put this on a community board in Mombasa this morning.
