Let's build a playground together in Rome
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a playground - we need $1,750 for materials.
🇮🇹 Italy823 views
For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 20 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Union Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $1,750.
It will serve about 487 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $1,750 goes:
• Materials: $1,100
• Permits and inspections: $165
• Safety equipment and signage: $80
• Tools hire and delivery: $405
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

Thinking of you. Great idea, hope you get there. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Thinking of Rome.
Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Chiara.
Materials is $1,100 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page. Let me know if you want more detail.
I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Thinking of Rome
Keep going, Chiara. Shared it with a few friends. I hope September is when things finally get easier.
good luck. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. After 7 years in public service I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Greetings from Epe.
