Gwagwalada
I coordinate donations at Acacia Refugee Centre in Gwagwalada. Every year around this time we hear from families who have nothing warm for their children, and this year demand has more than doubled. We're collecting clean, gently used or new coats, boots, hats, gloves and scarves in sizes kids' 3 to 5 and women's S-L. If you're in Gwagwalada, we can arrange a pick-up or you can drop things at Acacia Refugee Centre on Sunday between 11am and 2pm. If you're elsewhere, you may offer to sponsor a coat through a local shop - message in the comments and we can coordinate. Items go to families directly and the rest to the Acacia Refugee Centre clothing bank, which is open to everyone. If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

  • Hope things get better soon, Damilola. Hope you get there. Thinking of Gwagwalada.

    • Hope it all works out, Damilola. A secure home matters so much. Hope you're settled soon. After 30 years in accounting I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Love from Khulna.

      • Sending good thoughts, Damilola. Hope you get there. Take care.

        • Wishing you the best. Hope this works out for you. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Take care
