Help Raimundo keep the the Second Helping pantry stocked
Help keep a free food pantry open for neighbors in need in Guarulhos.

Since 2022, our volunteer team has run the Second Helping every Tuesday from the back of the parish hall. We started with 29 families, and now we feed 283 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 54% this harvest gap, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 14 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Guarulhos market and keep every receipt.
Each $15 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $900 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $500
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $185
• Baby formula and diapers: $90
• Refrigeration and electricity: $125
Thanks for reading all this.

Thanks for sharing this, Raimundo. More neighborhoods should do this. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. All the best
