The gas account is 3 months behind. I received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on July unless I pay $500. I have never been late before April's medical emergency. I called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $170 first, which I don't have. I live with a disabled brother, and going through the rainy season without gas isn't safe. Without it we can't refrigerate insulin and food, or keep the house at a safe temperature. I'm working on getting back on my feet, and will pay forward whatever help I can once I'm steady. Every dollar goes to the account in Tanvi's name; a copy of the paid bill will be shared in the updates. Where the $500 goes: • Utility arrears: $320 • Reconnection and late fees: $65 • Down payment on a payment plan: $115 Thank you so much. - Tanvi

Updates from Tanvi

  1. Wanted to say thank you properly. 11% funded and I made the first payment toward down payment on a payment plan.

  2. Good news. Because of your gifts ($50 in total) the first invoice got paid this week. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely. - Tanvi

  • You're not alone, Tanvi. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Take care.

    • Praying for you. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. Thinking of Los Angeles.
