Beatriz was diagnosed with stomach cancer in January. The oncology team at Barranquilla Regional Medical Center has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in May. She will be away from work for about 10 weeks.
Beatriz is 40, worked as a cleaner at a hospital until January, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Barranquilla Regional Medical Center 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.
