Don't let Douglas's family go through winter without gas
A disconnection notice for gas arrived and Douglas needs $650 before August.

The gas account is 4 months behind. I received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on August unless I pay $650. I have never been late before my partner leaving the household.
I called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $185 first, which I don't have.
I live with a newborn, and going through winter without gas isn't safe. The children would have no light to study by.
I'm working on getting back on my feet, and will pay forward whatever help I can once I'm steady.
The money will go directly to the utility provider, and I'll post the paid statement here.
Where the $650 goes:
• Heating arrears: $360
• Reconnection and late fees: $115
• Down payment on a payment plan: $175
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

You're not alone, Douglas. Shared this with my family. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Greetings from Sheffield.
thinking of you, Douglas. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My husband and I read this together. Thinking of New York!
thanks for sharing this, Douglas. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier.
Wishing you the best, Douglas. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. All the best!
Best of luck, Douglas. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. After 30 years in hospitality I know how hard it's to ask for anything
