Dirk's non-Hodgkin lymphoma treatment fund
Dirk is facing non-Hodgkin lymphoma and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.
🇳🇱 Netherlands350 views
Dirk was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma in August. The oncology team at The Hague University Hospital has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in November. He will be away from work for about 6 weeks.
Dirk is 28, worked as a cleaner at a hospital until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to The Hague University Hospital 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $8,900 goes:
• Scans and lab work: $990
• Household costs while unable to work: $1,400
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $6,510
Thanks for reading all this.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Dirk.
Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. scans and lab work comes first ($990) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Fair thing to want to know.
So sorry you're going through this, Sem. Hope you get there. Greetings from San Diego
Gave what I could, wish it was more. We're a small family in Rawalpindi but we're thinking of you. Greetings from Rawalpindi
Wishing you the best, Sem. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Please keep us posted. Love from London.
