Dignity in old age: caring for Wellington
Help Wellington stay in his own home with three months of part-time care.
🇧🇷 Brazil1,808 views
I'm caring for me, who's 76. After a heart attack Wellington can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Wellington desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 50 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer.
Wellington worked all of his life as a farmer, and raised 3 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for three months will make a huge difference.
Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies.
Where the $900 goes:
• Part-time carer (three months): $490
• Medication and prescriptions: $105
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $145
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $160
Every share and every dollar helps.
Updates from Wellington
Update from São Paulo: the plan for hospital bed and mattress rental is now scheduled. We're at 18% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.
