Dignity in old age: caring for Valérie
Valérie, 81, needs daily care to stay at home, and the family is raising $1,100 for a carer and medicines.

I'm caring for my mother, who's 81. After worsening Parkinson's disease Valérie can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Valérie desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 40 hours a week and have cut back to look after her, but we need a part-time carer.
Valérie worked all of her life as a factory worker, and raised 4 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for six months will make a huge difference.
Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies.
