I'm caring for my father, who's 76. After a diagnosis of dementia Sun-woo can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Sun-woo desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 40 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer.
Sun-woo worked all of his life as a schoolteacher, and raised 4 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for eight months will make a huge difference.
Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies.
Where the $900 goes:
• Medication and prescriptions: $500
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $270
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $130
