I'm caring for my mother, who's 76. After a heart attack Shirley can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Shirley desperately wants to stay at home. I work 50 hours a week and have cut back to look after her, but we need a part-time carer. Shirley worked all of her life as a nurse, and raised 2 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back. Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for three months will make a huge difference. Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies. Where the $1,350 goes: • Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $500 • Hospital bed and mattress rental: $440 • Medication and prescriptions: $410 Please ask me anything in the questions section.
